Jagratha Samithi

Jagratha Samithi of the college is a redressal mechanism for women’s issues. It aims to ensure security of girls in the college, empower and enhance their status and to protect them from the violation of rights. Jagratha Samithi receives complaints from girls and discusses the problems faced by them and find solutions. Initiate programmes for the empowerment of women and girls,counseling the students to make them aware of the problems related to their day to day life and how to face these with confidence. The 11-member ‘Jagratha samithi’ at the college level consists of chairperson, sub inspector of police, counselor, PTA women representative, etc.All female students and representatives selected from staff are also the members of the Samithi. Smt. Seena.P.C, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce is the Samiti convenor. Samithi conducted health awareness programme, gender equality in association with ICDS Wayanad and women protection. On 5/1/2019 Gender Equality programme conducted in the college. Prgramme inaugurated by the honorable sub collector Umesh Kesavan IAS. Smt. Sajitha. ICDS and district kudumbhasree mission co-ordinator handled the class. A class on “ Women Protection” conducted on 22/1/2019 . Smt. Usha , Wayanad  District Women Cell CI and Sri. Joseph, SI, Mananthavady Police station handled the sessions. Resource persons demonstrated  about protection  and gave training to the girls.
