Film and Documentary Club

Feature films and documentaries are useful as sources of information. They are also used quite frequently as supplementary learning tools in the class room. Film club of Govt. was formed in October 2010.  Film club has been set up to create awareness among the students of the college about films as well as educative and informative documentaries. In order to hone their histrionic skills, students are given training in acting, stage management, operating light and sound, and using both movie and still camera. The club also conducts discussions and workshops on film appreciation. The activities of Film Club include various educational slide presentations. Film Club had already produced 2 Documentaries in collaboration with the department of English. We also have a good Digital Movie Collection under the care of the department of English from which students can copy required movies. Movies suitable for select occasions are exhibited to the students as well.

We have a professional still camera and a movie camera which are used for documentation and short film making by the students. Our students are able to use the infrastructure available here, and produce short films and documentaries. It opens a new avenue for self actualization, and also employment.
